How to prepare your audition video:

You can submit a one-minute, unedited video for your audition.

 

If you want to be in the PLAY or CHOIR, this should be a 1-minute part of a song IN ENGLISH. You should act and show movement and any other talents while you are singing. You may use music in the background as long as it is only instrumental (and please, not too loud - we want to hear YOU!).

If you want to be in DANCE or GYM, please submit a 1-minute video of your dance or gym talents!

Note: if you want to audition for PLAY/CHOIR and DANCE/GYM, then you may submit TWO 1-minute videos!

Can a friend and I send in an audition of us performing together? (a duet song / dance etc?)

In the past when people audition together, it's usually distracting and neither girl gets a fair chance to shine! So please, plan to do your best solo audition. If you are doing gymnastics and need someone to support you, that's fine.

How will callbacks work?

After we've reviewed the video submissions, we will get back to you no later than Wednesday, May 20 to let you know if we want you to come for an in-person callback.

Callbacks will take place at the Matnas Gvanim at 16 Nachal Dolev, Ramat Bet Shemesh A, on May 25, 26, 28 and June 1 and 3 - we will let you know when we'd like to see you!

Please note, if a girl 14 or younger is invited to a callback, mothers must attend the callback session with their daughter. 

 

General FAQ

Is Regal Productions really looking for new people?  Yes! We really want new talent and fresh faces!

 

But I've tried out before and didn't get a part! Keep on trying! Many of our actresses were turned down audition after audition, sometimes even when they had the main part the previous year! Each of our shows is different, so each year is a brand new audition process.

Can I audition if I don’t live in Bet Shemesh? Yes, but all rehearsals will take place in the Bet Shemesh area.

 

Do I have to audition in English? Yes! Our show is in English so we want to hear you sing and speak in English.

Q: צריך לדבר אנגלית כדי להיבחן?
A: לשחק ולשיר- צריך אנגלית מדוברת ברמה גבוהה מאד.
לרקוד- לא צריך לדבר הרבה אנגלית אבל כן צריך להבין אותה היטב, מכיוון שכול החזרות מנוהלות באנגלית.
מקהלה- גם המקהלה שרה באנגלית כך שהבנה ושירה באנגלית ברורה הכרחית.
 

If I get a part, what is the expected time commitment?

It's a very large commitment - but very worthwhile! From September to January, cast members attend multiple rehearsals per week, some running as late as 10:30 pm, plus occasional costume fittings. Full-cast rehearsals will take place every morning during Chanukah. There are several performance dates in Israel, plus a one-week tour abroad.

Please understand that you cannot take part in any other chug that interferes with your commitment to our show. Please understand that you cannot take part in any other stage or film production while you are involved in Regal Productions.

If I get a part, what is the expected monetary investment?
Rehearsals for girls (8-24) take the form of a paid chug. There will be some costume expenses (e.g. makeup, shoes), as well as travel expenses. More details are on the registration form. Feel free to ask us if you have any concerns!
